Exciting night at Monster Jam!

Yesterday I received an opportunity to see the Advanced Auto Parts Monster Jam monster truck series.  It was actually Sebastian's first "show" and I was a little

worried about how he might react!  I know he loves cars and trucks, and will point out every "big truck" he sees on the road from his car seat view, but I knew this would be a loud show.  We brought our kiddo headphones and bought a big pretzel and some m&ms to keep him distracted if need be!

If you have never seen a show like this, the monster trucks run various races around the track, over humps and smashed cars.  At the end there is a 60 second limit Freestyle competition.  There are also quad races and my favorite, motocross!  The trucks that were in the show were Maximum Destruction, Wolverine, Samson, Raminator, Rammunition, Full Boar, Mechanical Mischief, and Heavy Hitter!  We were rooting for Wolverine, for obvious reasons!

Sebastian and momma at Monster Jam!This totally fulfilled my tomboy childhood dream of seeing a monster truck show!  The loud engines got my blood going and the big leaps from the trucks were amazing!  My favorite part of the show was the beginning of the second half of the show, they had two motocross bikes doing super high ramp jumps. It was great! It was also kind of awesome when Maximum Destruction popped a tire on a big jump!

Before the show, or during intermission, you can browse the large selection of souvenirs available.  They had everything from t-shirts, to checkered flags, to monster truck toys!  I also noticed bags of cotton candy that came with super cute monster truck hats!

Sebastian was a little scared of the loud trucks, but he did come around and he absolutely loved the motocross as well (that's my son!).  If you get the chance, check out the Monster Jam show while they are still in town!
