RODGERS + HAMMERSTEIN'S CINDERELLA opened the PNC Broadway in Louisville 2015/2016 Season last night to a crowd that was singing along and dancing in their seats!  This 2013 Tony® Award-winning Broadway musical from the creators of South Pacific and The Sound of Music, will play The Kentucky Center for a limited engagement through Sunday.  With its fresh new take on the beloved tale of a young woman who is transformed from a chambermaid into a princess, this hilarious and romantic Rodgers + Hammerstein's CINDERELLA combines the story's classic elements – glass slippers, pumpkin, and a beautiful ball along with some surprising twists. Derby Dinner Playhouse opened SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS last week and I enjoyed every minute of this loud and big Broadway musical that once was also a big movie hit with MGM!  Set in the 1850's in Oregon, this is  a classic American musical that will take you back to the glory days of the movie musical.  Full of romance and foot-stomping dances, this is the saga of a young bride in the Oregon wilderness who finds herself in an unexpected situation after hastily marrying a mountain man!  She finds she has also gotten 6 rowdy brother-in-laws and she must make them more...

I had the opportunity to see Once at the Kentucky Center last night and this is a show you will not want to miss.  It was the winner of eight Tony Awards in 2012 and it is easy to see why.  The music, the story, the staging in this show are all exceptional. The show takes place in an Irish pub in Dublin in the style of a story being told for patrons at the pub.  The actors are all multi-talented musicians who play at least one instrument, if not several, sing, dance and act out different roles at varying times. There is no...
