I was looking for something fun and different for my son to do this summer and found just the thing at The Artist in You!   The artist in You is a casual, family-friendly contemporary art studio in Westport Village.  Their staff provides children with a safe, fun-filled camp experience. They are offering their Super Cool, Totally Awesome Summer Workshop for Kids on Fridays.  I dropped Jackson off around 9 am and was pleasantly surprised to see a lot of other kids there as well.  I knew he would have a fun time!  He got to choose a piece of pottery to...

Mother’s Day is all about mom and making sure that she gets pampered!  I was beyond excited to learn that we were heading to the Galt House Hotel this past Mother’s Day for their Brunch in the Archibald Cochran Ballroom, because that meant I didn’t have to cook, or clean up the mess afterwards!  With two boys in the house under the age of 7 you can only imagine how messy my kitchen can get! We arrived at the Galt House around 11:00 am, found an easy parking spot in the garage under the Rivue tower and went right to the...

My 6 year old is becoming extremely well-versed in local theater and after seeing Stage One Family Theatre’s production of Charlotte’s Web this past weekend, he deemed it one of the best shows he had seen so far!  We went to the 2:00 pm production at the Kentucky Center for the Arts on Saturday, after what had been a very long morning at the March for Dimes Walk.  I will admit I was afraid he might actually fall asleep, but the show kept every minute of his attention!   I was thrilled when I learned that Stage One would do an...

Last weekend my family and I had the pleasure of attending Lego Kidsfest here in Louisville at the Kentucky Fair and Expo Center!  We went to the Saturday morning session and I will admit, I thought 4.5 hours was way too much time, we would never need all of that.  But, boy was I wrong!  There was more than enough to do and keep my children interested in!  We could have stayed all day and they would have had fun every minute! As the crowd pushed into the event arena, we decided to head all the way to the back...

I had the pleasure of attending a special event the Frazier History Museum hosted on Dec. 30th, the Princess Tea Party, sponsored by Sisters Tea Parlor.  It was a delightful afternoon with my mom and my 6 year old son.  Yes, I realize he is not a princess, but they made over him just the same and he got to see what it was like for my mom and I to talk about a beloved princess of our time, Diana, and to learn about history at the same time. The afternoon started off with us being greeted by a Knight in...
