I had the pleasure of attending a performance of West Side Story at CenterStage this weekend.  It is the 2016-17 season opener and is a great production directed by John Leffert. West Side Story, a modern day Romeo and Juliet, is set on the harsh streets of New York City’s Upper West Side during the 1950’s. It is the story of two gangs, the Jets and the Sharks, as they battle for control of turf. The conflict escalates when one gang member falls in love with a rival’s sister. I went to CenterStage yesterday to see the final mainstage production in their current 2014-2015 season!  Direct from Broadway’s Golden Age of musical theater, “Fiddler on the Roof” is not only a perfect finale to their 100th anniversary season, but also a fitting opening celebration of the Jewish Community Center of Louisville’s 125 Anniversary. With themes of tradition, family and community, there is no better way to honor the traditions of the past while looking forward to the future of these two well-known Louisville institutions than with this timeless classic. “Fiddler on the Roof” recently celebrated its 50th anniversary proving that although...

“Sweeney Todd, the Demon Barber of Fleet Street at CenterStage is the new MUST-SEE Thriller this Halloween season!    Time for a Date Night, make it a thriller this Halloween season!  Last night I had the opportunity to sit in the audience at CenterStage of Louisville and I was blown away by it!  CenterStage artistic director, John R.
