Performances Begin on Wednesday, October 10 and Play for 2 Weeks

Louisville, KY (Friday, June 15, 2018) – Disney Theatrical Productions and PNC Broadway in Louisville announced today that tickets for the long-awaited engagement of Disney’s Aladdin will go on sale to the public on Monday, June 18 at 6 a.m.  The hit Broadway musical will begin performances in Louisville at The Kentucky Center on Wednesday, October 10 for a limited engagement of 2 weeks through Sunday, October 21.  The press opening night is Thursday, October 11 at 7:30 p.m.  

In Louisville, Aladdin will play Tuesdays through Thursdays at 7:30 p.m., Fridays at 8 p.m., Saturdays at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sundays at 1 p.m. and 6:30 p.m.  There will also be a 1:00 p.m. matinee on Thursday, October 11. VIP Ticket Packages, which include a prime seat location, a commemorative souvenir program and an exclusive merchandise item, are also available. Beginning Monday, June 18 tickets will be available at 6 a.m. at KentuckyCenter.org.  Beginning at 10 a.m. tickets will be available in-person at the Broadway In Louisville Storefront (620 W Main Street, Suite 100), by phone at 502-584-7777 and 800-982-2787, and also online at BroadwayinLouisville.com .  Orders for groups of 10 or more may be placed by calling Jenny Ward at 502-569-3060.

Ticket buyers are reminded that The Kentucky Center, Broadway in Louisville, and Ticketmaster are the only official retail ticket outlets for all performances at The Kentucky Center. Ticket buyers who purchase tickets from a ticket broker or any third party should be aware that The Kentucky Center and Broadway in Louisville are unable to reprint or replace lost or stolen tickets and is unable to contact patrons with information regarding time changes or other pertinent updates regarding the performance.

Aladdin opened on Broadway at the New Amsterdam Theatre to critical acclaim on March 20, 2014 and quickly established itself as one of the biggest new blockbusters in recent years, breaking 12 New Amsterdam Theatre house records and welcoming over seven million people worldwide. Its global footprint has expanded to include productions in Tokyo, Hamburg and London, in addition to the two U.S. productions.

The film won the Oscar for Best Original Score and introduced the hit song “A Whole New World,” which won the second of the film’s two Academy Awards as Best Original Song.  The Peabo Bryson/Regina Belle recording of the tune soared to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.

Aladdin is designed by seven-time Tony-winning scenic designer Bob Crowley, six-time Tony-winning lighting designer Natasha Katz, two-time Tony-winning costume designer Gregg Barnes and sound designer Ken Travis.

The production team also includes illusion designer Jim Steinmeyer, hair designer Josh Marquette and makeup designer Milagros Medina-Cerdeira.  The music team is headed by music supervisor and music director Michael Kosarin, who also created the vocal and incidental music arrangements, joined by orchestrator Danny Troob and dance music arranger Glen Kelly
