Stage One Family Theatre Petite Rouge Ticket Giveaway!
If you love the classics, then you will adore this toe-tapping musical fairy tale as hot as the Louisiana swamps. A red-hooded duckling named Petite Rouge and her sidekick Cat lead the Big Bad Gator on a wild "duck" chase through New Orleans. Take a trip to the bayou in this saucy, Creole romp; heapin’ with a side of low country jazz, blues, and zydeco music!
Watch the little white duck and her cat, TeJean, embark on a journey to deliver étouffée and gumbo to Petite’s sick grandmother. Following close behind them is Claude the Alligator, a gourmet chef who’s on the prowl for a special ingredient: duck! In this Cajun-themed version of the Red Riding Hood story, Petite and TeJean even end up in the middle of a Mardi Gras parade in New Orleans!
“Petite Rouge is set in the swamp but it’s also a fun and funny fairy tale, so I wanted a colorful bayou inspired by sunsets and Mardi Gras celebrations,” said Gil Reyes, director of the play. Reyes said he drew inspiration from his many years working as a co-artistic director at Theatre and from performing with Radio Disney, where he entertained kids for hours on end.
