Progressive® Insurance Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow Review!
Today my family and I got the opportunity to attend the 58th Annual Progressive® Insurance Louisville Boat, RV & Sportshow at the Kentucky Fair and Expo center and I must say I was impressed. We had great weather today during the show so it makes the anticipation for summer with boats, kayaks, and wave runners much more realistic. My family and I enjoy the outdoors whether it be boating, fishing, hunting or just traveling but the sport show definitely has something for everyone's taste. There are several activities for everyone of all ages even children, which is especially a plus because I didn’t know what to expect for kids.
When we first arrived parking was great, the fee is only $8 and that’s for as long as you would like to stay. The parking lot is very convenient and very spacious so
every spot is a great spot to park at. When you first walk in, the entrance is lined up with several beautiful boats for you to look at and take pictures of. They have a ramp you can take to actually get into the boats and see how they feel. If it was relaxing inside I can just imagine how it would feel on the lake. There were so many different types of boats, all different shapes, sizes, & colors. I was amazed at how much they differ in speed - some are just nice and slow like a relaxing pontoon and then there are actual racing boats. I think I would like to give all of them a try. There are also several types of jet skies that are at a very affordable price if you are interested in those as well.
When walking through the attraction there are so many fun activities you and your family can do together. There was a set up for kayaks that you actually got to test out yourself! Cool huh? A very nice family owned the business where he had several different types of kayaks and stand boards, whether they were glass, plastic or inflatable he had them to fit you and your budget. Once you chose the board or kayak you wanted to test they made sure you had a life jacket on, which is great since there are so many children there. There was a very large pool that you can go back and fourth paddling the kayak or board. It was very cool to watch as everyone who went sure had a big smile on their face.
As you're going through the show if you happen to get hungry or
thirsty there are several stops where you can get something. Most
of it is your typical fair food which I am not complaining about
because I love the fair food and I didn’t have to wait till august to
get a taste. Also while you're walking through there are several
booths you can actually go shopping at. If you’re a shopper like me
you know that’s the spot to be. There were jewelry booths,
clothes, hunting gear, purses, outdoor décor, cell phones, cooking
accessories, and there was even a booth that sold life jackets for your dog. It was absolutely adorable!
There was one activity that we enjoyed so much I think it was honestly my favorite. There was a trampoline there that the water jumpers would practice their tricks on. They would work on their balance, do crazy stunts, learn from one another and teach each other. They do this so they can get better when they are being pulled by a boat in the water. Whether it be water skiing, tubing, wake boarding they just need to be able to practice outside of the water and this was super cool to be able to watch.
Once you reach the RV section of the show you will be in complete shock. They have definitely changed since I was a little
girl going with my grandma and grandpa to Santa Clause Indiana
every year. They vary in price so much that I saw one for $30,000
and one for $500,000. You were able to actually walk through
them and see all of the amazing features. Some had full size living
rooms with large flat screens and a fire place. Others had full size
stainless steel french door refrigerators and back splash with
beautiful kitchen tables and seating areas. I was amazed that they
can even come with washer and dryers now. The beds always look
super comfortable and the bathrooms all were nice sizes. The staff
and owners were all very nice and exceptionally helpful. If you had a question about anything they made sure to have the
correct answer for you.
As we came to the end of the show we found the trout pond. You were actually able to have them put bait on a hook and
you could catch a fish. Once you caught it you can take pictures of your little one holding their accomplishment of catching
a fish and then the owners will release them back into the water. This was a very great day for my family and I, and a fun
way to spend quality time together doing something we all enjoyed. I think we all look forward to going to this every year
from here on.
