JACK FROST SAVES CHRISTMAS is now playing at Derby Dinner Playhouse!  This is the next great addition to their Children’s Musical Theater Lineup!  My kids and I attended the breakfast show this past Saturday and loved it! It is so important to take children to live theater!  I love seeing their faces light up and how excited they get to go see a show.  b2ap3_thumbnail_ddp1_20151119-212308_1.jpg

Father Winter, played by David Myers, can no longer continue his important weather work and when he retires he leaves a magical young boy, Jack, to carry on his winter responsibilities. Lem Jackson is in the title role of Jack Frost and as always, does a phenomenal job of connecting with the kids whole on stage.  He does a great job of acting like a big kid, which makes all the children in the audience love him.

At the North Pole, a spirited group of winter animals, played by a great cast made up of Bill Hanna, Carly Stotts, Sandra Rivera, and J.R. Stuart, discover Jack and soon realize he is not like other children and that he has some very special icy abilities.  The animals decide to bring him to Christmastown where Jack experiences the town in holiday hysterics over an ever-growing heat wave caused by Father Winter’s absence.  The kids thought it was hilarious that there would be a heat wave of 100 degrees on Christmas Eve!  As Christmas Eve arrives, Jack discovers and accepts his talents and in doing so saves Christmas!  He is able to freeze everything and although he thinks being different is awful at first, he begins to realize that it just makes him special and unique.  I love the Derby Dinner shows for always teaching important life lessons to children!

Every show includes a buffet meal.  We usually go to breakfast and the kids love the French toast sticks, scrambled eggs, and ham!
